Does the USA Have Border Protection?: Let’s Take a Look

By: Frank R. Williams III

The Wilson Family and the Chilton Family bought their farms over twenty years ago. The Wilson’s have chickens and the Chilton’s have cattle. Both families have purchased illegal migrant helpers to assist doing the work on their farm. In addition, the Chilton’s have a farm hand, Bill, to assist with the cattle.

Texas lawmakers in 2023 approved Senate Bill 4, which allows Texas police to arrest people for illegally crossing the Mexico border. It was expected to go into effect in early March 2024, but legal challenges from the U.S. Justice Department and immigration advocacy organizations have repeatedly prevented the law from going into effect as litigation makes its way through federal courts.

Texas National Guard members also installed signs meant to detract migrants from crossing the Rio Grande, at the bank of the river in Eagle Pass, on Jan. 17, 2024. The signs did not work.

A federal appeals court recently blocked the state of Texas from enforcing the law — hours after the U.S. Supreme Court had allowed the law to go into effect while the federal court case continued.

Those with homes and farms near the border are constantly checking their properties and finding trash, used fire pits, and other things left by strangers. It’s not unusual to see the migrants near the farmer’s homes.

The property is also being used to smuggle drugs into the USA. Illegal migrants have back packs that carry drugs to deliver to a pick-up person on the farmer’s property. People are smuggled in as well.

The 2024 election results should change things for the better.
